Harrison was incorporated as a city in the state of Idaho in 1899. It is part of Kootenai County, Idaho, and is located in the southern end of Lake Coeur d'Alene. As of July 1, 2016 had a population of 256, and a total of 128 households. Harrison's estimated growth rate through the year 2020 is 2.1%.
Harrison, Idaho's schools are part of the Kootenai School District. Children between the grades of pre-kindergarten and sixth grade attend Harrison Elementary School, and students between the seventh and twelfth grade attend Kootenai Junior-Senior High School. Harrison's schools are known for their excellent academic scores, which is a benefit of the small community that the schools are a part of, which allows for small class sizes.

Heyburn State Park, the Pacific Northwest's oldest state park, is located nearby and offers 73 campsites, plus a number of trails for both hikers and bikers that lead up to beautiful lake views. For golf players, the Circling Raven Golf Club, which was rated by Golf Magazine as one of the Top 50 Resort Courses, is only a few miles away. Also located there is the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort, which offers slots, bingo, and betting, as well as fine dining, shopping, frequent concerts, and entertainment.
For residents who love the water, Lake Coeur d'Alene has a lot to offer, including a park, beaches, trails, boating, and fishing. Additionally, the lake is a great place to see wildlife, including bald eagles, swans, geese, ducks and ospreys. Museums, Historical Walks, and Campgrounds, are some of the other activities available.
